SICKLEGENAFRICA DELEGATION AT THE 12TH H3AFRICA CONSORTIUM MEETING IN KIGALI, RWANDA
The Human, Heredity and Health in Africa (H3Africa) held its 12th Consortium Meeting from 16th to 23rd September in Kigali, Rwanda where the Director of SickleGenAfrica; Prof. Solomon Fiifi Ofori-Acquah together with his Project Manager; Justina Agula and Study Coordinator; David Nana Adjei and other delegation of the Network: Prof. Gordon Awandare, Co-Principal Investigator and Dr. Kofi Anie, Lead of the Community Engagement Core were in attendance.
The eight-day meeting, was held at the Radisson Blu Hotel and the Kigali Convention Center (KCC) in conjunction with the 11th Conference of the African Society of Human Genetics (AfSHG), a founding organization of the H3Africa Consortium.
The consortium meeting brought together scientists, researchers, academics and other officials from all over the world to give talks, presentations (oral and posters) and share ideas with the broader scientific community.
Prof. Ofori-Acquah delivered a presentation at the workshop of the second plenary of AfSHG on Friday, 21st September whiles Mr. Adjei made a presentation at the H3Africa Study Coordinators Working Group session held on Tuesday, 18th September touching on the progress of SickleGenAfrica from a Coordinator perspective.
The meeting was highly successful. Delegates benefited from high-level speakers and moderators through the training sessions, open forums, panel discussions and workshops.
