DEAN'S BIOMEDICAL RESEARCH INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME

DEAN'S BIOMEDICAL RESEARCH INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME

The Programme

The Dean’s Biomedical Research Internship Programme is returning this year. The long vacation mentored research education programme is designed for level 300 Medical and Dental students. This year we are broadening our scope to include students from other SickleGenAfrica Collaborative Sites beginning with Kano.

The Objective

The objective of the programme is to expose medical and dental students to research at an early stage in their training and provide an enabling environment for them to develop the passion for careers as physician scientists.

The Method

As part of programme regulations, mentees take the National Institutes of Health (NIH) web based course on research ethics and submit certificates to the programme lead.

Mentees will give presentations on assigned topics, attend weekly seminars and take active part in the Research Day at the end of the programme. Each mentee is assigned a mentor to guide them throughout the programme.

The Application

Application forms are available here or from Ms. Eyram Djormeku of the Dean's Office of the School of Biomedical and Allied Health Sciences.

Completed application forms should be submitted to biomedicalintern@ug.edu.gh on or before 4 p.m. on 12th April 2019.
